August Bank Holiday will see The RNVR Yacht Club's Channel Dash to Cherbourg. With the present conditions of the Jet Stream moving north, we are hoping for good sailing weather across the Channel.

High water in the Solent is around 04:20 on Friday 24th which gives some 4hrs of favourable tide to get out past the Needles. On Saturday high water is 05:20 and will give the same conditions.

The Commodore’s Trophy will be presented at the Annual Dinner to the skipper whose yacht reaches Cherbourg with the highest average speed per hour made good on the passage across the Channel.

We have organised a French feast for Saturday night at the Café de Paris, and I hope you will enjoy the menu we have chosen, which includes an aperitif and a four course meal plus ½ bottle of bottle of wine for £34 each.

Berthing can be booked through the club but skippers will pay for their berths directly.
