Our Annual Dinner this year takes us on a first visit to the “In & Out”: The Naval & Military Club, 4 St James’s Square, London SW1Y 4JU.

Our principal Guest of Honour is Vice-Admiral Rory McLean CB OBE, until recently Deputy Chief of Defence Staff. Other club guests include Rear-Admiral Simon Lister OBE (Commodore, RNSA), Simon Ponsonby (Chairman of the Council of The Naval Club) and Commander Ian Gregory (Chief Executive & Club Secretary, The Naval & Military Club).

Drinks reception: 1900.  Dinner: 1930.  Bar closes: 2330.

The evening will start with a sparkling wine reception and this will be followed by dinner comprising:

Game Terrine
with Cumberland Jelly and Brioche Toast

* * * * * *

Slow-cooked Brisket of Beef
with Parmesan Mash, Braised Mushroom and Baby Onions

* * * * * *

Sticky Toffee Pudding
with Caramel Sauce and Vanilla Bean Ice Cream

* * * * * *

Dinner will be accompanied by fine red and white wines and followed by port. A cash bar will operate after dinner, up to 2330.

Dinner will be followed by speeches by our guests and the annual presentation of Club awards.

Dress for the evening will be Mess Undress uniform or Black Tie, in either case with neck decorations and miniatures.

Limited accommodation is available at The Naval & Military Club and should be booked directly with Marta Wyszynska at the Club. Details can be viewed on its website.  Various room types are available; as an indication, a double is £95 including continental breakfast, with a full English breakfast available for a small extra cost.

We have achieved a price equal to that of last year, despite rising food prices and increased VAT. The cost of the Dinner will thus again be £65.00 per person attending. As the dining room will accommodate up to 120 diners, we are again in the happy position that there will be no practical limit on the number of guests that members may bring to this prestigious event. But please book early as it is ‘first come, first served’. Should the limit be reached a waiting list will be established.
